Specific location details: Drivers unfamiliar with the intersection commonly assume they have the right-of-way 'on the straight', in spite of the yield signs, and blast through, ignoring the North/South Canova branch. Local drivers who know the actual rules of this intersection come whipping around the corner from North-bound Canova, turning left or right without slowing or even looking in many cases. When these two meet, there is huge risk. Logic says the N-S branch should have a yield, and the E-W directions not.
